Core technology

The modular architecture behind PAAS

At the core of PAAS is the patented water-vortex principle. This bionic-inspired technology sets the water in controlled motion and creates optimal process conditions for the purification steps that follow. PAAS combines this foundation with ten modular purification processes that — depending on the composition of the incoming water — are selected and tuned to one another in real time.

Architecture

A bionic foundation. Three
technology layers. One integrated system.

From the water-vortex principle, three technology layers work together in one closed process loop — a purpose-built configuration for every application, with an optimal balance between purification performance, capacity and energy use.

The foundation — Water vortex
Bionic-inspired process activation
The patented water-vortex principle technologically mimics the natural dynamics of flowing water. The controlled vortex activates and conditions the water for an optimal interplay of the subsequent process steps.
Layer 01 — Physical separation
Filtration and membrane technology
Sedimentation, ultrafiltration and membrane filtration physically separate suspended solids, micro-organisms and other contaminants from the water — without adding chemicals.
Layer 02 — Physically generated oxidation
Molecular breakdown
Ozonation, UV-C, electrolysis and plasmonic surfaces generate reactive processes that break down organic compounds and micro-pollutants at the molecular level — without conventional chemical dosing.
Layer 03 — Intelligent control
Real-time analysis and AI
Integrated sensors continuously analyse water quality and process performance. AI-assisted process control tunes the selected processes in real time to the desired output quality, capacity and energy use.

Bionically activated. Modularly composed. Intelligently controlled. Measurably validated.

The process architecture

Ten technologies,
one intelligent water stream

Follow the water through the modular PAAS platform. From the patented water-vortex principle, the required purification technologies are selected, combined and tuned to one another in real time — the configuration differs per application and is not the same for every water stream.

01
Patented water vortex
Bionic process activation. A controlled vortex mimics the natural dynamics of flowing water and creates the right conditions for the next purification steps.
02
Sedimentation
Physical pre-treatment. Heavier suspended solids and settleable particles are separated from the water in a controlled way.
03
Membrane filtration
Selective separation. Membranes separate specific substances and contaminants based on the required water quality.
04
Ultrafiltration
Fine purification. Very fine particles and micro-organisms are physically removed from the water stream.
05
UV-C treatment
Microbiological inactivation. UV-C light inactivates micro-organisms without adding chemicals and without chemical residues.
06
Ozonation
Oxidative breakdown. On-site generated ozone oxidises organic compounds, odour components and microbiological contaminants.
07
Electrolysis
Electrochemical activation. Electrical energy generates controlled reactive processes that support the breakdown of contaminants.
08
Advanced oxidation
Molecular purification. Combined oxidation processes break down hard-to-degrade organic compounds and micro-pollutants.
09
Biological treatment
Natural breakdown processes. Microbiological processes are deployed selectively to reduce biodegradable organic constituents.
10
Plasmonic surfaces
Activated material technology. Specially engineered surfaces amplify light-driven and catalytic breakdown processes.
Overarching intelligence
The PAAS Professor
Real-time sensor data and AI-assisted process control analyse water quality and continuously fine-tune the interplay of the selected technologies. The intelligence is not a separate purification stage, but the overarching layer that connects and optimises all processes.

From bionic water vortex to AI-driven purification — modularly combined for one measurable result.

* The figures shown are based on conducted measurements, field tests and research and validation programmes. Performance depends on, among other things, the composition of the incoming water, the chosen process configuration, installation capacity and application conditions. Underlying research and field data can be made available on request and, where necessary, under NDA.

International scientific validation
